FAQs

Here are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. If you have additional questions, please contact us.

Is there a fee for termite inspections?

For residential customers, we normally do not charge an inspection fee. However, if the purpose of the inspection is for selling, buying, or refinancing, we do charge a fee depending upon the square footage of the home or structure. If it is a multi-unit structure, we can inspect up to 2 units for free. Inspection fees beyond 2 units will be determined based upon number of units, number of stories, and other factors. All fees can be applied to work that is completed.

Where is your office located?

Pest Solutions Termite & Pest Control is located in Los Angeles County. We have licensed technicians to service your area in Los Angeles and North Orange counties.

Is your company locally owned?

Pest Solutions Termite & Pest Control is locally owned by the Marquez family; their family has been involved in the Pest Management for two decades. Miguel, Susan, and their daughter, Kathleen, have been involved with every aspect of pest control, including membership with the Pest Control Operators of California (PCOC) and the National Pest Management Association (NPMA). Pest Solutions Termite & Pest Control is a QualityPro company.

How much is it going to cost me?

Each of our services is priced a little differently depending on the size of your home or business, the type of service, the time and materials being used, and the type of pest being treated. Normally, we can give you a very good idea for pricing just by calling in and listening to your description of the situation. For commercial accounts, we would be happy to send out one of our Account Managers or licensed technicians to take a look at your facility and give you a written proposal.

Do I have to sign a service agreement?

That is completely up to you. We believe in providing excellence in service. Therefore, we believe you will want to use our services for all your pest control needs because we exceed expectations and we are a company built on integrity since 2002. We offer service agreements but are flexible with our services.

How soon can you come out?

Pest Solutions Termite & Pest Control strives to ensure that our licensed technicians respond as quickly as possible. For general pest control issues, we normally schedule service for the same day or the next day depending what is convenient for you.

Do you guarantee your work?

We believe in integrity and quality service. We will do our absolute best to make sure you are satisfied with the quality and results of your service. Different types of pest are guaranteed differently. When you call us to receive your free estimate, we explain the guarantees. Of course, the best guarantee comes with ongoing services. Ongoing services normally include a 365-day guarantee. Specifics about each type of ongoing plan can be explained by any staff member by calling 1-800-681-5141.

How long will the service take?

Our licensed technicians will always do a thorough inspection of your property, identify problems, and treat as needed. The first time we service a home for general pest control will take about 45 minutes. The first service always takes longer than follow up or ongoing services. We want to familiarize ourselves with your individual situation and come up with the best plan for your home. Service times also differ on the size of the property and type of pest.

Can I pay with a credit card?

Absolutely. We take Visa and MasterCard only, and we charge a 3% convenience fee. You can even request that your credit card number be kept on file and automatically charged after each service.

Do I get any discounts for prepaying?

You sure do! All customers who pay a year in advance receive a 5% discount.

Will the products you use harm my pets or infant?

Our licensed technicians understand that the label is the law. Therefore, utilizing these products according to the law ensures that they are used effectively. We recommend that pets and infants stay out of any areas treated by a liquid until that liquid has had time to dry. Otherwise your technician or the office staff will notify you of any additional precautions that should be taken. For instance, when treating for fleas, we do require that all pets and residents in the home leave the home for a period of four to six hours. Our licensed technicians have been trained to go as "green" as possible. Therefore, inspections, monitoring activity levels, watching for structural problems, and communicating with our customers are some of the best tools we have at our disposal.

Do the products you use have an odor?

A majority of the products used do not have any scent at all. Some of our "green" products have a wintergreen citrus scent to them. Please note if you request strictly "green" products, these scents can be somewhat overwhelming due to the level of concentration. Otherwise, it is extremely rare that customers even know a product has been used.

Will the products you use stain my carpet, curtains, or wood flooring?

Our licensed technicians will be sure to use products that will not stain your carpet, curtains, or wood flooring. There are certain products that leave a white dusty residue. Depending on the areas being treated, our licensed technicians will use different products in order to avoid leaving any residue.

How long will I have to leave my home for the service?

For general pest control services, you do not have to leave at all. There are certain medical conditions where we will recommend that the customer leave the area. For instance, we would recommend for customers on oxygen to leave the home long enough to be sure that everything is OK from our visit before reentering your home. There are other services where we do require customers to leave their home. For instance, flea treatments require that all pets and residents leave the home for four to six hours. This allows for the products we use to settle before anyone reenters the home.

I'm clean. How did I get these? Where are they coming from?

It depends on what you have. Generally, pests are looking for food, water, and shelter. They don't need much to survive, so even the cleanest home can be attractive to pests. Other pests could have come from that box delivered to your door, or that piano you bought and had shipped in, or maybe your new tenant next door. Don't worry - our licensed technicians will notate anything you can do to prevent the problem on your inspection.

Can you just fog my house?

We are capable of fogging your home, but it usually isn't the best method to eradicate what you have. There are high risks involved with fumigant. We offer much cleaner, quicker, and more effective ways to solve the problem. However, if you have used any foggers or any other product trying to take care of the problem on your own, please let your licensed technician know. Some products are repellents and some products are attractants. We need to know what has already been used in order to make sure we use the best product for the job.

Can you treat my entire yard?

Pest Solutions is state licensed for structural pest control. However, we are not licensed with the Department of Agriculture, which would allow us to treat your yard or other areas. We are now in the process of obtaining our Agricultural license and will update our status when we are fully licensed with the Department of Agriculture. Just remember that a good healthy ecosystem does include ants in the yard and spiders in the trees.
